Having an efficient landing page is essential for your marketing ecosystem to work. Your ads may be built perfectly, but if the page people land on when clicking your link isn’t effective, then it can be hard to reach your conversion goals.

First, let’s define what we mean by a landing page. A landing page is probably exactly what you think it is, the page that people land on when clicking on your link in one of your marketing or advertising campaigns. Oftentimes this is just the home page on your website, but some businesses may choose to build a standalone landing page just for their advertising campaigns.

Now that we know what a landing page is, how do we build an effective one? You know we love to answer questions like that! Here are some tips on building an effective landing page:

  • You need to make sure you answer the “Who are you?” and “What do you do?” questions *FAST*. People need to know they are in the right place, so having this information near the top of the page will keep people from clicking away.
  • Make sure that you are thinking of your target audience when creating the design and content. If your page doesn’t resonate with your audience, then they are likely to click away.
  • Include your value proposition! Once people know they are in the right place, they want to know why they should choose you over your competitors. This is your chance to highlight the things that make your business great! Keep in mind, though, that this should be short and to the point (we know there are a million things that make your business great, but we don’t want to have an information overload situation on our hands).
  • Make sure to have calls-to-action (CTAs) throughout your page. The goal is to compel people to take action, so giving them directions on what action to take is beneficial! It keeps them from feeling overwhelmed and also makes it easy for them to know what to do next.
