Social Media Videos

At this point, you are probably aware that people LOVE viewing social media videos. According to a 2020 study by Wyzowl, 93% of brands got a new customer because of a video on social media. So what does this mean for your business? It means by choosing the right content, you can reach more customers!

If you are ready to venture into video content for your social media, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • People want to be entertained! You probably have a lot to tell people about your business; make sure that your video tells them in a way that keeps them engaged.
  • Tell a story! We cannot emphasize enough the importance of telling a story with your marketing content. It helps to build and nurture customer relationships.
  • Keep it short and sweet! Across social media platforms, the recommended length varies, but they are all under 2 minutes according to Hootsuite.
  • Plan for it to be viewed with or without sound! Not everyone will be viewing your content with the volume turned up on their phone, so make sure that you get your point across without having to be heard.
  • Remember your target audience! Not just any social media video content will be effective. If your business sells skateboards, they may not want to stop and watch a video about knitting.
  • Mobile view matters! 91% of all social media users access social channels via mobile devices (Lyfe Marketing). Keep that in mind when you are creating your content.

That is a lot of things to consider, but it can make for some extremely effective content. Another important thing to keep in mind is that quality content is more important than quantity of your content. Posting a lot of content doesn’t mean that someone will be compelled to stop and view your content. In fact, it could have the opposite effect because they will lose interest.
