Put Your Best Font Forward

You may not realize it, but typography plays a huge part in your branding. That is why it is important to choose the best fonts for your business’s brand.

When choosing fonts to represent your brand, you want to keep a few things in mind. The font you use will set the tone and mood when representing your brand, whether it is on your website, graphics, or promotional materials. If your brand voice is more casual, then fun fonts can help! You definitely don’t want to be rocking that comic sans (yikes) if you’re a more serious business, though.

You also want to keep in mind the visual hierarchy of your fonts. This means choosing the best font for your headings, then subheadings, then text, and so on. You want to make sure that it all flows together well when reading down your website or other marketing materials.

Make sure that you don’t choose too many fonts, either. The goal of defining your brand’s typography is to keep things consistent. There are a lot of pretty fonts to choose from out there, but you want your customers to immediately think of your brand when they see words written in a specific font. It is generally best to keep it under three font families.

As we said, there are a lot of pretty fonts to choose from, but some of those fonts can be so swirly and decorative that you can’t read them! This is another major point to keep in mind when selecting the typography for your brand. You definitely want your audience to know about your business and not be left confused.
